We are brand spankin' new Class C owners. We bought our coach from a dealer a week before we flew to Alaska for a two week vacation. While we were gone, a note was left on our front door asking if we would be interested in selling. Our son, who was house-sitting, retrieved the note (with no name) and gave us the phone number. DH "googled" the number and it comes up associated with various RV sales publications. He called the number, got voicemail, but chose not to leave a message till we research further. Any ideas on how he knew we just bought an RV, how he tracked us down, etc? We live on a dead end cul-de-sac and only homeowners drive back there. Any thoughts? Help!!!! Thanks!

Your information probably got sold by someone. Could have been the RV dealer, insurance, bank, or if you purchased some other sort of supplies.

I would think he has very little interest in buying it. What he wants to do is get you to trade it in on one of his new ones. Pitch will be something to the effect, yours is in high demand, he can give you top dollar on a trade . Blah blah blah.Pretty common in the car business. Anyone could probably have gotten access to motor vehicle registrations. That's how most of these "warranty" companies know to send you a notice letting you know your factory warranty is about expire.

I think what really bothered me more than anything (and I guess maybe it's not a big deal) is that he came to our house. I don't like that at all.

He could have also been driving around trying to spot rigs......saw yours and drove down to it. Don't let it bother you.....just say no if he comes back.

I wouldn't sweat it. As others have noted quite easy it is to get the info. The way sale personnel look at it: for every person discomforted by a cold call there is another who's happy. Wel maybe the percentages are skewed but there you are:D.

I live in a limited access building so they can't come to my door but I sure do get lots of calls and mail from RE brokers when there is a sale in the bldg or environs. The way I look at it they have to eat too.

Im lost as to why someone would be looking to buy a brand new, now used motorhome? Seems the opportunity for profit would be at the lowest right now.
