When we do not pump a barrel of oil from America, we must go out and buy that barrel of oil from another country (many of which hate us). The shortage of oil decreases the supply and increases the price. It is a world market. Total volume affect price, not country of origin. This is easily understood and most Americans understand this. The lefty environmentalist have hi-jacked our national interest. We must make the politicians realize that these anti fossil fuel policies hurt America and hurt RV ers most due to our high fuel vehicles. Real environmentalist do not drive RV’s, only hypocrite environmentalist do.
The oil is pumped and sold via American oil companies. It is the greed of the oil companies not the lack of driling for oil in USA that is the cause of absurd prices. In the 60's gas was $.20 per gallon and the oil companies complained. They companies the oil inserted friendly politicians to office and had regulation of oil prices removed. The result is what we now pay, for a commodity traded and boosted in price by speculation not supply and demand.
If we the people demanded and permitted all the oil drilling wherever and whenever the oil companies wanted, the oil companies would find another boogeyman to blame for the gouging by the oil compiaies of the American public indures.
Make no mistake the oil comapnies have shut down oil refineries and have built no new refineries in many many years. What is it they do with obscene profits? Do they sit around the oil club drinking Sherry, and smoking cigars, and laughing at how we will pay anything they charge for gas and diesel rather than throwing the oil, bought and paid for politicians out of office, and putting those into office that will regulate and make oil companies accountable to we the people.
Oil is a natural resource we the people own and permit oil companies to suck from our land. Why not force oil companies to reduce executive compensation and reduce profits as was the nor until deregulation?
