With the advent of electric vehicles and the growth they are now starting to see I think the gas producers will be under pressure to keep the price low in the future. Diesel will have a longer run as it will take longer to see the heavy haul and pickup market go to electric. One wild card is the refinery capacity and ownership. The Saudis have been buying a ton of North American capacity. They have a 3 year program that is supposed to get them to a dominant position in the industry. Interesting reading and googling. Glad both our cars are electric...but the diesel pusher...let's hope it stays cheap for awhile.
