I would like to know where and what kind of RV mat to buy for pop-up? We've used indoor/outdoor carpeting and would like to upgrade. Please be specific... I'm new so sorry if this is posted wrong in any way.

Thanks in advance

like all said here. Go to Walmart, your local RV store or online like Amazon and get a simple foldable RV mat. They are great to help keep dirt out of the trailer. We don't use it on the grass either. Not to abuse Walmart, but pick up one there and try it once. if you don't like it return it, but I think you will like it. or next time camping walk around and check out some. Pros and cons from direct user. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

Costco had the best prices.
I was able to purchase a 9x18 on the Costco online site. The store only carries 9x12

We have a very old mat that needs to be replaced. We have lots of pine needles on our lot and I am wondering what kind of mat would be best for sweeping the pine needles off (it's an endless chore).

The ubiquitous mud hole. Where we go frequently to wife's Relatives area the nice grass RV park has mud holes at all the sites. They put out mats and stay for ever.
We have put out a mat, weight a ton, and take a while to clwan and put uo, in defense from the mud with campground approval.
If it is grass we try to be gentle with it. If there is some grass or we can adjust our position on the site to have grass instead we do. We've got a nice thick entry mat, for want of better description, or grate and we put a mat on top of that. Eventaully I will get around to a foldable wood grate step or entry large enough to put our shoes and support a breahable mat on top. If they say ok I will water the grass around the coach, when I have time, when we are going to be there a while. They like green grass too. Mat gos under the coach and entry grate or mat up when we are gone for the day.

Yeah, I've never seen much need for a mat when there's good grass.

I do not like any mat when I have grass outside, ON concrete I use one I picked up at the RV dealer.. On dirt,, I try not to park.

Agree. They might be fine for the user but what about the next occupier of the site which now is a mud hole after a previous user has had a mat on it for a week & killed the grass.

Fine on dirt. Fine on concrete. Any kind of mat on any kind grass for more than a day? No way.

QVC has been featuring this today. They are advertised as patio mats but they should be good for the RV?

Wow, I have been trying to buy (6x9) at RV awning mats.com. I've left a voicemail, 2 emails, and sent message via Facebook, no answers. Not sure how to contact them. They seem to be highly rated via this forum.

Definitely get one that is woven & lets water run thru. Got an Aeroweave mat this year from Camping World & really like it. Easy to clean, folds up fairly compact. They make 2 sizes.

If you have one of the popular breathable mats made of a blend of acrylic and polyester, you may want to consider the kind of chairs you use on it if you have it over soft terrain like grass or sand. I have found that chairs with strait, stick legs will poke holes in the weave. You would want chairs where pairs of the legs formed a U shape and presented only a flat bar to the mat.

I have to agree with the RV awning mats I use the 9X12 size.

I have never seen the need to put it on grass, that seems foolish.I just put it on gravel or paved sites.
If I have a grass site I would rather enjoy that and put a Small Door Mat out.

I can appreciate the reasons not to use one. All of our provincial parks or federal parks are either grass or dirt. I would say around 90% dirt. You will not see sites with concrete or patios set up. We use ours on the grass because quite often it is either wet or just been cut and grass is everywhere.
