RV Skylight sealant

I have a 2008 Winnebago View and need to replace the skylight. I looked at the skylight and it looks like there is some sealant on the it to ensure no water gets in the RV.

It doesn't look like silicone, wondering what it can be

Some skylights (those made of Lexan?) require a specific sealant, not Dicor. The manufacturer will specify which one to use.

x2- pay attention to manufacturers recommendations for that particular piece.
  • I have a Winnebago View and I think it has a fiberglass roof. The seal around the skylight looks like the seal around the bathroom skylight, bathroom fan, etc.

Is it safe to assume that's its dicor self leveling lap sealant

  • Use butyl tape under the skylight and then cover the edge and screws with self-leveling Dicor.
  • Thanks downtheroad.....

Do you know if I also need to use Butyl tape with the Dicor
