RV storage

We park our RV, dolly and car for several months during the year in different locations. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to find storage at some of the smaller privately owned storage lots? I've tried Craigslist and not had much success, and it seems the ones on the Internet are bigger companies and pricey.
  • It doesn't hurt to check Google Maps and the local police blotter as well. I've seen mention of some storage yards around the country that are pretty much a "pick and pull" for the tweaker crowd.

In general, the more rural the lot, the more secure it ends up being, but there are always exceptions.
  • I would call the RV dealers in the areas you want to leave it for recommendations.
  • Many RV and Mobilehoime parks offer RV storage.

Most RV Resorts publish a list of local RV related businesses. It usually can be found on the map of the park they hand out during check in. Or on a bulletin board somewhere in the park

Craigslist you need to keep watching for the small lots to advertise storage. You'll be able to tell from the ad whether it's a big lot or a small independent. A tip is to change the ad list you see in Craigslist to "Gallery" this way you see photo Icons for each ad...it will help you identify the independent lots easier.
