Sailun Tire Question

Here are some more observations on these LRG S637 tires...

Over the last 6 years or so, we have sold HUNDREDS of Sailun S637 tires in the 235/85R16G size. First the LT version, and more recently, the ST version.

Same tire, different designation.... and yes this change in designation was indeed done to beat the tariff on LT tires and keep them reasonably priced. The tire was not changed.

We have sold these tires for all kinds of trailers, Stock trailers for ranchers, Toy Haulers, RV trailers, Stacker car trailers for race cars, Open car trailers for hot shot haulers. There have been a bunch of repeat customers over the years, and for many commercial type users, this is the only tire they will buy.

My point is, if your considering the Sailun S637, do it. A year from now, you will be back on this forum telling others about how well these tires have worked for you!

One note of caution: be sure your wheels are suitable for the higher load capacity and 110 PSI pressure. This is important.

Thanks! Ordered and they should be here early next week. They should be put on as soon as the axle comes in (bent it somehow, so it's being replaced at the same time) along with the suspension upgrades. Bertha will be a happy girl next time she rolls out!

I have had Sailuns for over two years and they are performing great. Go for it.

I don't know that they ever were designated as a multi-position LT tire. My Sailun are the LT235/85x16 and state on the sidewall "Trailer Use Only". Even though they are labeled as an LT tire.

I have them on my Fuzion TH. Do whatever you need to do to get a set. They are great on these heavy toy haulers. I'd even bet they are better than most LT tires.

The Sailun S637 235/85-16 G first came out as a multi position LT tire.

I have six Sailun S637 LT235/85-16 G on a triaxle GN stock trailer. These are the same tire as the current ST235/85-16 G. When I bought them I was given a choice of a LT or ST designation as both were in stock till the LT were sold out.
The Sailun S637 in the 16" size is nothing at all like the usual rounded sidewall profile lite weight ST low mileage tire were familiar with.

I have the GY G614s on my rig, but only had the cheap bombs as spares, so yesterday I bought 2 Sailun G637s and mounted them on my spare rims. They are the same size as the GYs and will not cause any problem with the being the same exact diameter of the GYs. In asking why the are now stamped with the ST logo, both people I spoke to in different companies said it was to get by the tariff on the LTs. Same tire, no change except for the stamping. I've been impressed with these tires since first seeing them, now I own a couple and when the 614s are due for replacement, will probably own more of them.*

Because the only other tire I'd consider is the GYs and they are crazy expensive. 768 versus 1500 bucks is a lot.

So, why not simply install LT tires?
