Sealing putty

Does anyone know of a good sealing putty that I can use underneath my trailer? There are a couple of areas along the outside edge near the door where the sealant seems to have broken up. The location is very awkward to get to and it seems like a moldable putty that could be pressed into the joint would be a good alternative. I did a search but nothing came up. Thanks.

  • Yeah.... well it's not the door. It's the underside of the bottom corner across the area where the step is mounted. Difficult to get to with a caulking gun. I guess I will just take some putty tape, remove the putty and make a thick rope, and press it into the seam. Thanks for the replies.

To do the job correctly you need to remove the door,

So, You have a door underneath the trailer? I'm confused.

More experts will answer but I was thinking foam in a can. Will fill holes, insulate, and you can get both expandable and non expanding types.
  • You can buy rolls of putty tape in various thicknesses from any RV parts store. To do the job correctly you need to remove the door, clean the old putty tape off clean everything and lay a new line of putty tape and reinstall the door. Be sure to finish the project by laying a bead of Dicor for vertical surfaces around the entire door frame.
