second spare?

I carry two since I blew a tire on I-8 in 105 temps several years ago. I worried about making it home with no spare. Never again.

Though I've never carried a second spare, the thought has occurred to me and is a very good idea for long trips IMO.

Is the size common or hard to find? Mine are common and just carry one.
Needed the trailer spare twice in ten years.

I carry a 2nd spare as well.

I carry two on very long trips, like 6 hours or more. Had two the whole month we went out west and used one in Wyoming. Still had one left to get me home to PA. I was pretty happy about my choice at that moment.

I carry a batch of plugs and a 12vdc air compressor. It works unless the tire is too damaged for a repair.

I always carry two spares when I'm towing the enclosed car hauler. I've lost 3 tires on a trip! And sometimes it's a long ways between tire stores.

I don't carry two spares with my TT, since it has pretty good tires, and push come to shove I could remount my van's spare on a trailer rim, and since the van has two built-in spares I could always run rear singles in an emergency.

How good will my cell service be
How far from nearest service shop
How long do I wish to wait for service to arrive
How much will my auto club charge, if they can get to me
Will this happen on a weekend when everyone or most everyone is closed


I rotate in my spares for all vehicles, except for the mini van, which has a
space saver...but I check it's PSI whenever the other tires are rotated

If me, I'd get another spare if I could afford it (both $$$ and space)

I am never so far off the beaten track that I cannot get road service or leave the trailer to get a second replacement. I always carry one spare for the trailer and one for the truck, but I doubt I would ever carry two spares unless I was heading into remote areas with questionable roads. I have never traveled that far NE in North America to know the conditions, but I would carry two trailer spares and plug kit if I was going to Alaska along the Pacific.
