Security/Safe On Board Class A

I put a locking latch on my bed and it will not raise without unlocking. I use a sentry firesafe.

Hidden compartment in our TT. I had to dismantle (something), and it takes a screwdriver now to open and close it. But ... out of sight, out of mind! Someone would have to literally tear the camper apart to find it.

I've seen some newer "A"s have safes behind the wardrobe closet, behind the TV, in an entertainment center, and so on. The downside of a lot of these safes is that they are at best secure from casual use. However, a lot of them have a fire rating which may be more important than burglary.

I personally recommend "Fort Knox" brand of safes for small containers for items to keep secure. They have gun safes (which also double as decent strongboxes for cards and such.) They also don't have a fancy, electronic lock, but using a five-button Simplex lock which is a lot more reliable and has no batteries to run off. They also are pry resistant and decently secure. However, these gun safes are mainly intended to be lockers, and have no fire protection.

It depends on needs. Fire resistance is one thing. Burglary resistance is another, and you won't get both in something that is lightweight enough to be in an RV.

I also put laptops and other electronics in a drawer that cannot be reached when the slide out is not extended. I also remove the key that activates the slide outs.

On some Thor ACE floorplans, this was one of the features I thought was useful. Some models had an electronically activated drop-down bed, with cabinets for storage. Toss one's items that need secured into the cabinets (making sure to secure them so they don't shift around), raise the bed, then pull the key from the switch. It isn't as secure as a safe, but it renders the contents out of sight and inaccessible to all but the very determined.

Our Bird has one built in from the factory. I'm pretty sure they all did.

If you don't have room inside your RV, get a secure locking hitch pin (I use the Bolt lock ones that key to a Chevy/Ford/Dodge), and use this container.

Yes, it is definitely obvious it is a storage box, but if one doesn't have anywhere else to put a safe, might as well use it.

Our '97 Dynasty came with a safe as standard equipment.

I was hoping to find both. You're right, it's a challenge (and of course, it's all relative and really just a function of dissuading a casual thief or buying time from a more persistent thief). This one is the smallest I found. Still not small or light.
