My shower plumbing is placed low compared to the tub wall, with the result that the shower hose gets pinched (see image). Is there a commonly available right angle or 45° fitting I could screw onto the bottom of the faucet assembly to redirect the hose? I did a search for such a part at RV supply sources with no success, which led me to wonder that perhaps it is a common general plumbing part.
Due to the filler and diverter knob, turning the existing fixture upside down won't work. The vacuum breaker unit linked to doesn't provide a filler outlet or diverter.
The Grohe adapter looks like the best solution, though I would have to temporarily remove the knobset to install it, since there isn't enough wall clearance to screw the elbow on. Does anybody know of a similar adapter with an independently turnable female collar, such as the one on the hose itself?
On our previous coach, I fixed a similar problem by rotating the shower faucet set 180° so the D-spud for the hose was on top where there was more clearance instead of underneath. The hot/cold pipes and faucet caps were also swapped of course.

Fitting is 1/2 inch IPT, common 1/2 Inch Pipe fittings should work.

My trailer came with a Two Handle Shower Valve with Vacuum Breaker assembly similar to the one in the link. It was installed with the vacuum breaker which was not replaceable was pointed down. I wound up snapping it off. I replaced it with the Phoenix model in the link which has a replaceable vacuum breaker. The valve assy can be installed with the vacuum breaker pointing up or down. The hot and cold handles can be swapped to suit which side you need them on. I would like to have found one that had a spout with the vacuum breaker on top, but the models with spouts always have the shower pull handle to divert the water to the shower hose on top.
