I've been told, but never been able to verify that the RV version is made with slightly thicker plastic and heavier welded seams. All to avoid damage from pressure variations during altitude changes.
Some members have reported seam failures of residential mattresses if they forget to bleed the mattress before traveling in the mountains at higher altitudes.
It Murphy's law that you will sooner or later forget to bleed off some pressure. We live in mountain country and have forgotten several times, but never had a problem with the RV version we have.
