Hey. Nice set up. I like the increased capacity over what ours is. We have probably north of 40,000 towing ours on our little trailer. We are on our second set of tires for the trailer now but it has been fairly low maintenance although we hit a road aligator last year and took out a fender. (and tire). Our trailer stores mostly under the rear of the motorhome so it doesn't cause any more grief than a tow dolly really. There are of course pros and cons to both methods of towing but like you we prefer the trailer version for towing although we have friends that tow four down and he is very happy with his set up.
Thanks for sharing. Nice to see costs etc. Ours was made by Kendon in LA but they are no longer building them. IN our case it was a modified side by side quad trailer. I suspect yours could be easily re-purposed for that as well.
You might consider getting the Kurt hitch for the smart car so you can move it around easy in the campground etc. Works great for us. Don't bother with their light harness thing as it only takes 15 minutes to splice in the lights from the rear panel.
