Our cat could easily open the screen door, so our friends and friends' kids were well-versed in moving the handle across the SCREEN door to prevent the cat from escaping. One day 6 year-old Scotty asked to go to the playground and I said fine: it's 30 yards away. It was cool out, so as I let him out, I of course closed BOTH doors, whereby Scotty dutifully put the handle across and ran over to the playground. I opened the window and shouted for several minutes before he heard me and came back. You can't get out.
