I try and buy two of everything I replace on my own, (small items)
I use one and if I mess it up trying to install it I have a spare, if I do the first one right I have an emergency spare.

That would be hilarious, if the whole scenario wasn't kind of scary....it's not like you can run down to the hardware store when you're in orbit.... but I think McGuyver-like talents are also a requirement for being up there? They'll get it fixed.
