Square Footage Of Your Sites?

I'm just curious to see how large my favorite campsites are compared to yours.

I've never actually measured the sites but site sizes are listed on the reservation page. Our favorite sites average about 2,340 square feet. How about you?

Good size site at Reports should be 70 by 30 or more paved aand grass around that.
I really hate crowded so tight you can't open awanings or some cases slides, or park your towed, on site.
I was well satisified with Traverse Bay RV Resort. have been to one state park, in La with similar and larger spaces, at some sites but not all the amenities like pond an ducks and flowers and not a train or busy road in ear shot.

I just estimate them based on a rough idea of the dimensions.

Not ALL of them...Looks like you have 4WD on that truck, you should check out Shinnecock East and Teddy Roosevelt out at Montauk. Camp ON the beach not by the beach, then you'll really get some sand in that camper.

In the sand at Teddy Roosevelt county Park Montauk:

Sunset over Montauk. You can see the TT hitch in the left side of the picture, gives you an idea of how close the water is:

Campground access is 4WD only, air at 15 psi in all tires:

Have never actually looked at sq. footage, as long as it's big enough for me to get my MH into it'll work, although we do like the NF cg's better as they usually have more distance between them.

We have been in camp grounds 3 times in three years and the sites could be measured in sq inches. The clearings we use for boondocking are usually a few acres or more.

After looking at some pics here on the forum I notice a lot of CG's have their sites very close. As you say, like a parking lot.
We have stayed in very few private campgrounds. One thing that I find interesting is the sites with cement pads, patio areas that look like you have pulled into your back yard. Are these becoming more popular?
We are use to provincial parks further north where the sites are surrounded with trees and brush. In most you can't see the set up in the next site.
I enjoy the pics of different CG's. They vary quite a lot.

Somebody else will know but the Outdoor Resorts sites are minimum 60 feet deep X 45 feet wide .

We decided in 2002 to downsize to a new 21T Komfort NON SLIDE TT towed by a new Duramax extracab .
We had previously spent Feb/March at Outdoor Resorts Cathedral City , an upscale RV park which incorporates a golf course .
Because we had a non -slide shorter RV we were able to pay only $ 1000 per month after downsizing , instead of $ 1300 to $1600 per month .
There were 4 sites that the foliage encroached on the paved parking pad and those would not take an RV with a slide out . Hence 25% discount .
Immediately prior we had a 36 ' Beaver diesel pusher and had stayed there in the larger spots .
Around 2001 we discovered that we and our friends very much preferred dry camping without hookups , hence the change to the shorter TT and the 4wd diesel pickup .
We took a trip down Baja peninsula for a month also and preferred the duramax/21T for that application also .
Plenty of opportunities for dry dispersed camping on Baja also .
When we dry camp in the Ochoco National Forest we have a site about 200 x 200 and we circle our trailers around the rock firepit underneath the giant Ponderosa Pines .
No worries where the hookup pedastal is ; there aren't any .
