We have hosted at StanislUs 3 different times. They have 4 different hosting spots on the river. Your experience will depend on where you are and when you go. Winter season is very kick back at all 4 parks, with light visitation and not much to do. They say they ask you for 40 hours but in reality you'll have something to do about 10 hours. Basically you provide a 'presence' in the park. They have gates thT are supposed to open Automaticaly in the morning 6am and you just have to make sure they open. You can do that at a couple of the parks by listening from your rig! You have to manually close and lock the gates at dusk. These are day use parks only. Heather is a great ranger to work for and you have lots of autonomy, there are days you will not see a ranger.
During the summer it's a different ball game. These parks are quite busy and are popular spots for putting in and taking out river rafters. The parks will fill up and you will have to control traffic as well as keep things clean. They have special contracted crews that clean the rest rooms and do the landscaping, you just need to keep things neat. It can get hectic in the summer. The winters rarely get below freezing but the summers can get hot.
Do you know which park you will be at. We envy you. Heather fills her spots early.
