Steer Safe control system

We have the Steer Safe on our coach. We had ours installed after friends had theirs done at Quartzsite a few years ago. Our friends noticed a lot more improvement in handling than we did on day to day driving. We are still glad we had ours done and would do it again.

I installed Steer Safe on a 1989 P30 34 ft Chev chasis and also on my present MH, a 2013 Monaco 34 ft with a Ford chasis. I am very happy with the product.

I had it installed on 2 different class A's. God improvement in handling.

Too little + caster will manifest itself as "loose steering" and "wandering" at highway speeds. Ford ships the E Series with the caster set at about +3 to +3.5 degrees which is OK for city driving, but you want to have at least +5 to +5.5 degrees for an RV on the highway.

When I bought my MH 11 years ago it had Steer safe on it and I did not experience any handling problems that others reported on their P-30 chassis. Last year on my trip out west my lwr ball joint failed destroying my steer safe on the left side. The shop fixed it but could not replace the steer safe so I drove home without it. I honestly could not tell the difference with or with out it. I think the main selling point is that the springs help keep your tires straight if you have a front tire blow out.

If your coach does not steer/handle/ride well without spending big $$$ on after market "cures"... you bought the wrong coach. A properly loaded, aligned motorhome running on good tires set to the proper inflation should drive, ride and handle just fine.

A thorough test drive is essential BEFORE you buy. If the coach has steering/handling/ride issues {and a decent quality coach should not}, they will not get better over time and miles. Why buy a motorhome that will immediately require throwing large sums of money to solve a problem that should not be there in the first place? :h
