I’m looking into having an enclosed metal building built to store my travel trailer (and other things).I have an estimate on a stick built that is twice the price and trying to determine if a metal building is suitable. I’ve heard they have a tendency to sweat on the inside from the roof and are extremely hot in the summer. Anyone have a metal building and can comment?

I have a metal sheathed pole building. When built is has a vapor barrier installed under the roof. No sweating!A steel framed building should have a vapor barrier at least in the roof area.I have put insulation and plywood on the interior walls.

I have a 40x50 metal building. I have never had a problem with Sweating. There are roof vents in the center peak and on each end. I don't have it insulated but there is a cement floor.

mine sweats wish I would have gone wood.get some more prices on a wood bldg.

Our shed is what would be considered a metal pole barn/machine shed with a concrete floor. No vapor barrier, just a simple ridge vent in the peak. 38 years and no condensation issues.I think some of the condensation problems may have to do with how air tight the building is.

I have a 25 x 50 steel building in Florida, no condensation but I spend several hours a day with the doors open .

We have a 40' X 40' with insulation and no condensation.

I built a small one 20' X 30' and it did sweat without insulation.

Both all metal.

I have a 50 X 55 metal bldg. Concrete floor and spray foam insulation. 2" on walls and 4" on ceiling. Heated in winter to 50 degrees.No problem.

Is it vented? Maybe a ridgeline vent could help. The spray foam sounds like a good idea

My pole barn is uninsulated with no sheeting under the roof and no heat - concrete floor. it has never shown swet in 14 years. It does have plenty of ventilation though.

I bought the 60' x 60' metal building where I store my RV from the county's road equipment department. I got it for a song because it "rained" inside. It was actually condensation because the bozos were using gas space heaters that weren't vented. I replaced the four unvented ones with two gas furnaces that were vented to the outside. Dry as a bone now.
