I have the sunblocker screen that slides in the grove of the awning drum. My awning is automatic and I would like to be able to roll the awning up temporarily like if the wind kicks up or overnight not to store or transport. Anybody do this?
Thanks
Obviously there are different types...But I roll mine up with no problems. Mine is 2 part. Little part is about 2 feet wide and slides into awning grove then with a zipper the big part zips in for a full length sun shade. I put it in when the wind is expected to be over 20 mph. Folds up right into the rest of awning. I do make sure the zipper tab (zipper grip thing) is folded over so the zipper tab doesn't poke a hole in awning. When we first got it and on directions if I recall right, not supposed to travel with it rolled up. But lady also said many do travel with it rolled up. But we do anyway with an elec awning that stays put. But on our small class C with manual awning I don't dare give it anything extra that could possibly help it deploy when driving.
Sure is nice, we use 3 gallon water bottles and bungee cords that hooks on to water bottles to keep it from flopping around in light breeze. When it gets full of dust I just hose it off and then spray the zipper with dry lube. Cost was around $100 I think. And also nice is when the sun shines on our way to white TT it hurts my eyes sometimes in bright sun. Sun shade solves the eye problem. And twice now wild life has came right out next to us and not even know we were there behind the sun shade, sitting on chair on patio under awning. The little part mentioned above...If you can get different lengths measure what awning from the ground to groove so you don't have to get a ladder or something to zipper in the long portion.
Here is link to what we have on TT. But there are many out there.

One more good thing... when drizzling with a breeze, blocks most of the rain.
