Temps in the Nawth in October

We spend October in northern LP if Michigan. It is always warm enough for us but what we think is warm enough may not be warm enough for you further south.
I am looking for my long underwear.

And we have an electric blanket on our bed which makes a big difference.

That's what I thought, when I lived in Northern NY, but know I have to agree with j2catfish, it's North, (from here at least). :B

I lived 2/3 of my life in Iowa. You say you're going to Indiana the middle of the month - how long will you stay ?

I can remember that some years we'd dress our kids in just their costumes for Halloween trick-or-treat nite and other years we'd have them in their winter coats too !

While anything can happen at any time, it is most unusual to have nasty weather before Thanksgiving. I may go bad for a day or 2, but if you wait (and the bozos have the accident that they want and go home) things will clear and you can go on....

Staying warm longer this year, but Oct can be 90 or 20 - never know All is good this year. It can get cool at night. We are in central IL and have had nights down to 50, so you do want sweatshirts or jackets, long pants if you will be out after 8pm. Mosquitos in IL are bad this year too as there has been lots of rain - be prepared for those in IN too. Enjoy the trip.

Intellicast lists the average high in October for Shipshewana at 62 deg.F, and the average low at 41 deg F, so the odds are good that you'll have no problems with the roads barring a freak weather event. These days of course, that's always a possibility, but no one is going to be able to tell you if it will happen during your trip.
