Tesla S w/TrailManor

We did an overnight at Los Banos/I-5 KOA and this rig was parked behind us. Note the cable for the Tesla parallel to the trailer. Two things are interesting, first a Tesla S pulling a Trailmanor and two the cord from the pedestal to the Tesla is smaller than the cable to the trailer. There is no dog bone so I can only guess it is plugged in to the 20 amp CB.

The rig came in after we did and we did not notice it until the next morning. We left early and never saw the owner. I have no idea about any of the specs but the campground is more than 250 miles from Torrance where the trailer had been loaded. There was a temporary parking permit for loading and unloading and it had been issued by the Torrance PD.

In addition to what the Mod mentioned, I mentioned the parking permit to give everyone an Idea how far he had traveled from home to the campground.

If it runs on batteries it's either a toy or a golf cart.

I believe those were older units,,hopefuly new ones are better stronger..
Thank goodness for such long waranty though..

I like to watch Rich Rebuilds channel,he buys salvaged wrecked Teslas and fixes them,,its interesting to see whats inside those cars

permit to park the thing on the street where he lived so he could load it for the trip

city of Torrance restricted parking size , length etc..

with the approved PD permit, parking patrol could not ticket them
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

I am just as impressed with how neat there site is set up. 30A cord laid nicely and coiled at the back of the trailer, no extra junk outside! Very clean and organized!

And yes, this is in the future for sure, itโ€™s still gonna take some convincing of the general public that EVโ€™s are a good alternative.

I always coil what ever I have out water, electric and cable. Usually near the pole though.

I coil my extra and keep it under the trailer. I like a neat site!

I love it.

But, what does this part of you post mean ?

(:I have no idea about any of the specs but the campground is more than 250 miles from Torrance where the trailer had been loaded. There was a temporary parking permit for loading and unloading and it had been issued by the Torrance PD. )

What does "Loaded" mean and why do you have to have a parking permit to do that ???

I'm no authority on Tesla but have noticed comments that they were replacing a lot of drive units. Some owners report multiple replacements. It seems that they have an 8 year warranty but perhaps towing could worsen the problem? He probably had to stop and charge somewhere along the way. I believe Torquelift sells an EV series of hitches.

After working on various pieces of equipment that were using induction motors with 3 phase ac controllers I would caution anyone that is enjoying the quiet agressive feeling and smoothness of these cars that you are still putting x amount of torque through a set of drive gears.

Very cool, thanks for sharing a bit of the future. The car's probably drawing 20A which would work overnight. I believe the yield with a full charge is equivalent to our 'old school gasoline tow vehicles'- due to mandate (350-400mi).
