Thank goodness for my RV cover

I have seen countless threads on should i cover or not cover my rv well I say cover here's why. In central mass on the ground we have well over 3ft of snow more like 4ft but i stay conservative. Most TT are 3ft off the ground, well the snow is above that which would probably mean snow would seep into the door or any small opening like storage areas, vents etc. Now if it's properly covered no problems and after removing snow from my TT roof it's midway up the door. Let me tell you waist deep snow, roof rake, and 10 degrees with wind is not fun even properly geared up. When it finally rains the snow will be like sponge and I hope it doesnot sink into the mud. I do have 8ft 2by10's under the wheels and landing gear crossing fingers.

4ft of snow? Ice damming? What sort of hellish place to ya'll live? I thought this site was for regular RV'ers not arctic explorers.

It's called the frozen north. I ask myself every year, why do I continue to live in Pennsylvania. And, it's not nearly as bad here as farther north? ๐Ÿ™‚

Hearty people live up north. We go to great lengths to enjoy all seasons in our rigs. :B

I can see where ice damming could be a real issue.

If your door and window seals are good, your roof isn't leaking, and the snow is fairly dry, having three or more feet against the trailer is just "instant skirting", IMO. I raked off about two feet from my roof, last year and that was a mild Winter.
I know some of you NE'ers are getting hammered, this year. Just think of it, nostalgically, as one of those good old fashioned Winters. I do remember the drift at my folk's house in RI was up to the gutters, one year. We had many years of sledding on the road and skating all Winter (it was just a good old fashioned Winter, lol)
agree old fashion winter but no way is my camper sealed. they aren't exactly made from the most durable material. My back room has a gap between the bed and outside wall and can see daylight. again a picture would tell a better story. The snow this year in greater boston/inside 128(95 for the rest of you) is insane. It's not drifts it's litterally the snow that has fallen is halfway up houses near the sill of most windows. Heck the MBTA (mass bay transit auth.) is running limited or not at all, still. They are paying $30hr to shovel the tracks. How do the folks in Canada do it never hear of their public transit shutting down or the city for that matter. My kid has a mighty machine video of what Montreal does and how efficent they are about removing snow. Wether it's true or not hope someone will chime in. They closed the subway(the T)for a couple of days. Thank goodness I don't live in Southie dig out your pahkin spart end hev sum arse pahk tehr caa arfta ya sayvd et wit ur char. or sumtin. My boss lives in Mendon and he dug out his 5th wheel and drove florida we have gotten 1 to 1.5feet since he left. I'm jealous... darn ground hog there's a bounty on his head around here.:)

I was stationed in sandiago then Bremerton,wa missed news glands 4 seasons could deal with most winters this one is pretty intense it was -10 Sunday with no windchill factered in with it was like -30. Things start not to work as we are not prepared for that deep cold. Roof collapses and clearing heating vents is an issue also. Don't like the weather wait a minute. But hopefully my rv cover works as advertised by CW...

I also would be glad I covered it if I were you. Heart felt sympathy for all of you.

sorry you are having issues with the snow but I must confess, and don't any of you people get any ideas of moving west, but we have had the best winter this year. from the looks of it God sent all the bad weather east. with the weather we have here in my neck of the woods we just just consider snow to be a minor inconvenience. yes we do have rain in Oregon but that's OK, we don't have to shovel rain.
