Ive got a Honeywell Pro 5000, thermostat, Can any one tell me if i can use it to replace the on in the trailer and how hard to install. any help would be appreciated Thanks Kay N5LUI

I Have a Honeywell Focus Pro 5000, the mod. # TH5220D1029 it has 2 AAA batterys but think they are for digital read-out only. It is a 6 wire terminal, 1-+7.5 volt red,2- cool Yel, 3-Fur-wht,4-hi-fan-blu,5-fan-org,6- gnd-grn. the orginial t-stat is Dometic slide. the furnace is Suburban. hope this helps. Kay N5LUI

What thermostat do you have now?

This link shows Hunter upgrade but wiring should be same.

Although if you are going to run both heat and AC, I can't help you as I've never done that.

As donn stated it needs to be self powered (has batteries) or runs on 12V.

Is there a specific model number, or is it just a 5000?

To use a home type thermostat on your RV HVAC systems you need a self powered or at least capable of operating from 12VDC. Not familiar with that model, so you need to figure it our for yourself. Most common is a Hunter Douglas model that is self powered and available from places like Walmart for around 20 dollars. With the addition of a mini switch you can still retain the two speed AC fan feature.
