well it has come to that time..... After 10+ years of service and family fun- We have to sell the ol' 5th wheel. Due to a divorce -we also have to sell the camper. I tried Craigs List and some other sites -but very few hits- The more I think about it- the more I don't wanna deal with the public with all that goes with selling a unit (I had one guy come by and has never towed anything ever)- I am wondering if anyone has any experience with selling back to a dealer on consignment? I realize it may be less money, but it cuts out the selling privately hassle. Camping World seems to offer it- Anyone have any feedback?

We sold my Dads motorhome through Camping World consignment. Took about 3 weeks. They have good exposure but we definitely felt like they were on the buying parties side when it came to negotiations. But it did sell.

So did you refuse to sell it to the guy with no towing experience? I have never had trouble selling a unit. I usually use Craigslist and Facebook to list mine. I will be listing mine for sale today, who knows this one may take months to sell.

no- I did not refuse to sell it to anyone..... He just had a lot of questions and wanted a LOT of guidance. I just had this feeling - this guy would be calling me (knowing my contact info)

I have had great success with a private consignment lot on a well traveled main drag. For a flat fee I sold my last rig in 3 days and got my price. I am headed there in a couple of weeks when the weather warms a little to sell another one.I don't like working with dealers at all.

You might get more help and guidance if you stated your geographical location. Many of us know reliable dealers who will sell on consignment.

partly- yes...... I've had it online for a month on 3 different sites with one hit. Due to my situation- I need to get rid of it sooner rather than later
