OP here, I never realized there was so much variation state to state on how registration fees were computed. Having only lived in California and Arizona over the last 60 years my frame of reference in this area is a tad limited. Just happy that ours (here in AZ), go down a little every year and while our property taxes are far lower than California we have a nearly 9% sales tax. I guess no matter where you live they get you one way or the other. :E
