Tire Load range Mixing??

During a recent trip, 2 of my my 4 travel trailer tires picked up nails in the top of the sidewall area just next to the tread. They were both not repairable so I had to replace them. The ST225/75/R16 tires that came with the trailer when new were load range "D" tires.. The dealer where I was able to find the replacement ST225//75/R16 only had load range "E" tires. Besides the different air pressures required for laod range "D" (65 psi) and load range "E" (80 psi), is there any harm in mixing the load rande tires until I need to replace the "D" tires?.. Both "D's are on the front axel and "E's are on the rear axel....
  • I don't see a problem. I would have the D's on one side and E's on the other instead of mixing front and back.
  • Just put 65 lbs in the new tires until you can get the others replaced. They will have the same load rating at 65 as your old tires.

I agree, the air pressure should be equal in all four tires for best ride.
I would have purchased LT tires and tossed the STs if it were my trailer!
