Tires

Hi all, don't know if this is the place, but will find out.

On my truck 1999 dodge ram sport with an 8.1L or c10 engine. I have P245/75/R16 in the front. LT245/75/R16E in the back. now, this does pull a 5th wheel. why the difference in the two tires? thanks for your time.
  • That truck had P rated tires as OEM. Somebody put some LT tires on the back to better handle the weight of that 5ver. If its going to haul a load, I'd put LT all the way around. I agree with the others, P rated tires shouldn't be on full size pickup trucks, but that's what almost all 1/2 ton trucks come with.

No, this is FORUM technical support. Your post will be moved.
  • Passenger tires don't belong on light trucks, pulling or not, IMHO. But many use them anyway.
  • Someone put the wrong tires on it. They all need to be E's.

IMO because somebody found a good deal on "P" or passenger rated tires.

But probably lots of opinions being the word "tires" was used.
