Tires

Hi all, don't know if this is the place, but will find out.

On my truck 1999 dodge ram sport with an 8.1L or c10 engine. I have P245/75/R16 in the front. LT245/75/R16E in the back. now, this does pull a 5th wheel. why the difference in the two tires? thanks for your time.

That truck had P rated tires as OEM. Somebody put some LT tires on the back to better handle the weight of that 5ver. If its going to haul a load, I'd put LT all the way around. I agree with the others, P rated tires shouldn't be on full size pickup trucks, but that's what almost all 1/2 ton trucks come with.

Passenger tires don't belong on light trucks, pulling or not, IMHO. But many use them anyway.

Someone put the wrong tires on it. They all need to be E's.

IMO because somebody found a good deal on "P" or passenger rated tires.

But probably lots of opinions being the word "tires" was used.
