Toad Purchases

Question

Hello to everyone.We recently purchased a 2014 Itasca Suncruiser.We have no RV experience so i might be asking lots of questions, but i hope to have most of them answered with the older forums that are on line here.
Anyone have any advice as how to save money on a Tow bar,braking system and base plates? We just bought a Scion 3 days ago and want to get it outfitted to tow. Besides craigslist, is there any other place to look for used items like these?I know i probably have to get a new base plate because they are fitted for a specific vehicle.But if i can save a few hundred on a tow bar and a few hundred on a braking system it would make sense.

I got my first Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain and the Guardian grill protector off of eBay for about a 1/3 of the new price. Used the tow bar for about 5 years and only recently traded it in on a new one. Still using the Guardian.

IRV2 forum has a "classified" section that I've seen tow bars, base plates and other goodies. Unfortunately, RV.NET doesn't allow this sort of thing.

Is your Scion a manual or automatic transmission??

ReadyBrake supplemental braking system.HItchtrader.com for used tow bars, etc.Make sure your Scion can be towed 4 down. If not, you may need a dolly.
