Is it really necessary to use camping word toilet paper or can any toilet paper that says septic safe be used.

We use whatever we have at home. Right now it is Scott 1000.
No reason to buy the expensive RV TP Unless you are just trying to get rid of your money faster. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't think I have ever seen a TP that said "unsafe for septic tanks" on the package. :h

I don't have city sewer at my house and I don't think about it. We use Cottenelle Ultra in the purple package, "With wider sheets for a more effective wipe"
Works in the TT or the house.

But what if the CG does not have city sewer?

I don't think we have ever stayed in a park that was hooked up to a city sewer .. When we were seasonal at one park for over ten years we used regular TP ( as did most ) with no ill effects to the parks septic system ..

An equally satisfying wiping experience can be found by using anything you receive in the mail from Camping World.

I haven't wiped since Sears quit sending out catalogs. Probably a good thing. The catalog pages screwed up my black tank sensor. ๐Ÿ™‚

We use Cottonelle 2 ply without any adverse reactions. It flushes and easily breaks down.

There is an informal TP test. Take one sheet and put it into a cup of water. Shake the cup for about a minute. If the paper breaks down it can be used anyplace.

We use Scott 1000's and have done for many years; sometimes I'll pick up a different brand if it's a good sale.

Never waste your money on RV toilet paper!

one thing most forget is the black tank is a holding tank not a septic tank. but in saying that, any paper that is septic safe is OK to use. just use lots of water to flush and the tank will empty just fine. it has been a long time since this question has been asked. in the old days it seemed like it was asked at least twice a week.

Scotts Single Ply is labeled septic safe and works for us. BTW that includes both a 3 inch sewer hose and as often as not, a macerator with 100ft of 3/4 inch hose.

If you bought the RV from CW, you have to use their TP (it's in the fine print).
