If you find yourself needing to do repairs to an RV toilet it will be far easier if you simply remove the entire unit. This will give unlimited access vs the try and work by braille method. To that end utilize a 7/16" deep socket to simplify removal of the two nuts/bolts that secure the toilet to the floor.

Most but probably not all toilets are 7/16" so check yours. Some are easier to access than others, mine is a PITA but turning those nuts with an open end wrench, about a sixteenth of a turn at a time, is a very aggravating time consuming exercise.

Easy to replace. The valve fits into a slot on the back of the toilet. When you order the valve you get a neoprene donut used when bolting the toilet to the floor. My toilet was mounted too close to the wall for the valve to completely slide out, so i had to unbolt the toilet from the flange to finish removing the valve. I needed the donut when remounting the toilet.

To remove the valve reqiures disconnecting the supply line and the tubing to the toilet rim, removing one screw and disconnecting the flush lever rod.

Thanks for the help, my model # 31683 forgot to mention that that's why I don't know if they still make that valve or just changed #? From what I can tell it is seeping from top and running down straight line, I checked fittings it is coming from above. Seemed like it did this once last summer but it stopped.

I replaced mine twice without removing the toilet. They are prone to leak.

If you have to replace a seal, I highly recommend using plumbers grease on it.

Are you sure the fitting isn't just loose?

Even if the valve is difficult to access with the toilet in place, removing it is not difficult. It's only held in place by two nuts. Disconnect the water line of course. It wouldn't hurt to have a new rubber base gasket on hand in that case, but it may not be needed for a simple remove/replace.

I'd just change the whole toilet. It's probably gross anyway! Just be sure to thoroughly flush the tank first!!!

If you are confident that the leak is due to the valve, I would recommend changing the valve, they are much cheaper than a new toilet.

Fill valve should be on the back of the toilet so as long as you can get in there it should be fairly easy to change without removing toilet.. Otherwise if toilet is too close to wall you will have to remove toilet to change the valve.. I have managed to replace a valve on an older model once that was in a worse place without removing toilet. Wasn't easy but I did get it done.

Kit does include replacement seal, use it if you lift the toilet, do not reuse the old seal as it may not reseal.

I would recommend adding a braided stainless steel flexible water line to connect the fill valve. Gets rid of any tension that may be present from the stiffer PEX line.. The ones at Home Depot and Lowes will work fine, you need to find one that is 1/2" to 1/2" connections.
