Towing a Ford C-Max

I am finally getting around to setting up my 2013 C-Max as a tow car. I remember reading that I need to make sure a charge line is installed. Is there anything else I need to think about? What about a brake system? Help from other C-Max owners is appreciated.
  • We owned a 2013 C-Max. Max was towed easily behind our F-53 chassis Itasca. We had the complete Blue Ox set up, i.e., baseplate, hitch, cabling and a charge line. Without the charge line you might get three hours of towing before the battery dies. Just be certain the RV to car line is connected correctly. I would heartily recommend the Patriot brake box. Get the 2016 model as it has a separate hybrid setup and better seat contact plate then did the 2012 version we owned. Max was towed about 10,000 miles. Our only problems were the charge line's initial connection was incorrect causing the battery to run down on several trips. Also we had a flat tire on the car one time. Fortunately it happened overnight with the rig parked. As an aside, do not have a flat tire in Fort Stockton, TX on a Sunday. We sold the entire rig, MH and Max in November and now are no longer RVing.
