Follow up!
We made it just fine to Andrew Jackson State Park in SC. We arrived Sunday evening after our stay in West Virginia at the KOA. We were greeted by fellow RV.net forum member kcfissel who was on campsite 15. We were on campsite 14. We'd never met before, just a casual contact via RV.net.
We had a really great time! We shared stories about everything from A-Z, lots of discussion about RV.net and all the various topics that come up on here.
We're about the same age, (over 60 ... enough said)... so we weren't into the run, run, run type camping. Just lots of sharing together making a meaningful friendship.
Our doggies finally quit being so hyper with each other and mellowed down, so it was a really nice visit with each other.
Kcfissel left home this morning, we'll be here to Sunday morning.
I'm looking forward to meeting up with my first cousin and family on Thursday, who just recently moved to a suburb of Charlotte, NC (about 40 minutes from where we're camped at).
Friday is our 32nd wedding anniversary, no plans made, just lots of rest and relaxation and enjoy the VERY quiet and peaceful state park here.
We'll be heading back to Indiana on Saturday morning, will probably take 2 days to do the trip home, and probably end up staying over night at the same KOA we visited on the way down.
Not sure about re-winterizing the camper to get back to Indiana. March is still very "iffy-iffy" with temperatures, so we'll keep a close eye on the weather in Indianapolis via the local television station apps on our cell phones.
And by the way, I still have not had an opportunity to wash the trailer or the truck. No snow here in South Carolina. Temps today got up to 71 degrees, but the truck trailer still have all the cruddy dirt hanging on from the trip here.
Back to work again on Monday. Time is sure moving fast.
Once again, many, many, many thanks to forum member kcfissel for him and his wife's outstanding friendliness and generosity! They were truly a delight to meet and fellowship with. I hope we get to meet again someday. (They are from South Carolina).
