It's smart from a marketing perspective. The average person doesn't know how little force it really takes to move a rolling load with hard wheels on a smooth surface. It's simple physics, but to the average person, it appears *VERY* impressive.

The only reason there are sour grapes is because Toyota thought of it first.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

Heck, I got a 65 year old 17hp tractor in the shed that will pull it.

It wasn't trying to stop it, it was a braking test for the spacecraft. I sure hope Ford doesn't try to use this in a commercial. I thought the Toyota commercial made Toyota look silly.

Looks a lot less silly than some guy roping a huge alien and towing it through city streets by a GM, or what appears to be about a 10,000 pound lashed-down solid block of cargo being dropped by a crane from 10 feet into the bed of a Ford.
At least Toyota's commercial was "real".

I don't think there would be a long list of trucks that can tow something like that 0 to 60 MPH in 1,000' runway. Also they can test the braking system while pulling it around still hooked up to the truck, giving full braking to test the anti-lock brakes. Not many trucks that can keep a 13,000 pound load moving at 30 - 40 MPH while it is in full braking mode.
