After looking in the owners manual, it appears I have a GCVWR of 26,000lbs, and a GVWR of 18,000lbs, and an UVWR of 15,019lbs. It mentions that my GCVWR may differ depending on the hitch that is attached. Reading that logic would dictate that I could safely add a class 3 hitch rated at 5000/500 and be fine without frame reinforcement and still be under GCVWR? Also looking at the frame I can see where the frame extension is butt welded to the original, but there is also a large piece of c-channel covering that entire piece and welded in. Then there is a cross brace roughly 2 ft from the back near the hitch. Is this factory or reinforced?
