Anybody out there tow a 2013 Toyota Tacoma crew cab ,auto trans using the driveline disconnect? The toad in my signature passed away about two weeks ago.It dropped a valve through a piston at 54k mile...

We had another OP with '09 Tacoma and a REMCO driveshaft disconnect. He too was happy with it. I don't think he ever said where it was installed.
Were I to go with a REMCO type disconnect, I think I'd get a used driveshaft and have it reconditioned and the disconnect installed in it. But... I'm a Just in Case kind of guy.
The REMCO seems like a good, reliable, device. Problems seem to come from installation (cable binding), or lack of maintenance (periodic cleaning).
Rangers are pretty durable. Surprised this dropped valve happened. Older ones would lock the camshaft up with excess silicone sealer from the factory that dissolved in the oil then congealed on the cam bearings.
