Traction/Stability Alarms

Recently after dolly towing our 2014 Chevy Cruze for 60 miles, I received a traction/stability control and maintenance alarms as I was backing the car off the dolly. The alarms cleared with in few seconds. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Try this on your Cruze :

    1) turn key to full on

    2) turn key to full off, DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY

    3) Try turning the steering wheel 90 degrees in each direction to see if the steering lock engages. I suspect that it will NOT as long as the key is not removed from the ignition.

Most all Asian imports and quite a few domestic vehicles built since 2009 operate in this manner. No this operation is not mentioned in the owners manual.

  • I imagine it didn't like the front wheels being still while the backs were spinning.
