TT Camping Cot Recommendation

Good Afternoon,

My wife and I will be taking our nephew on a trip with us. Normally, my wife and I sleep on the queen and my two daughters sleep on the converted dinette.

Since my nephew is only 10 and not yet 5ft tall, I was thinking of getting a camping cot to place next to the converted dinette.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a short camping cot? All the cots I've researched are greater than 6ft. I looked at kids camping cots and they're too short.
  • All good recommendations. I'll try that cot from Walmart and see if it's too long. If it is, I'll return it and go with the air or regular mattress.
  • We use a Coleman Comfort Smart cot from Walmart. It fits under the sofa when not in use. No complaints from our kids.

  • Or get a single sized air mattress to put on the floor, no cot needed.

Option B would be two have your daughters squeeze into the queen with Mom and you take the dinette with the nephew, keeps the boys with the boys if you know what I mean....
  • foam pad, on floor, sleeping bag, if warm thin sheet over sleeping bag.

nieces did it for several summers .. with our popup.

good luck with your search, and have fun.
  • We often travel with extra kids, and extras usually sleep on pads on the floor.

Floor sleeping allows for a somewhat shorter pad, since for comfort purposes padding needn't extend for the "full length" of the kid. They're quite content to let their feet hang off the end of a typical 48" long patio chair pad.
