I have 3 TVs in my RV. The main tv that came with the RV and the one I installed in the bedroom get the same TV reception via the roof antenna. All 3 TVs are plugged into the cable outlet and the booster is turned on. The outside TV also came with the RV and is hooked up the same way as the other two TVs, but it gets much fewer channels than the other two TVs. I don't understand why.Any tips on getting the outside TV to have better reception? I tried switching out the cable on the TV, as it was cut too short and gets maxed out when extended sometimes. That didn't help. Any ideas are appreciated. I want to watch football by the campfire tonight and I get NBC beautifully inside, but not at all outside.

You could extend the cable on the outside TV to connect to your antenna and booster amp, inside, or install a secondary antenna and connect the outside screen to that. FWIW, I built my own antenna in an afternoon. If you buy one, look at the specifications and make sure it is built for the frequencies of your favorite channels.

If you have done a channel scan recently then maybe start checking all connections on plug plates (both sides) and any "Y" that may be in that run.

Every connection is about a 3db loss of signal strength. Some TV's have better tuners than others. I have one flat screen that works better with the signal coming thru a converter box. Not as good of a pic but over 20 channels instead of 3.

Not all TV's have comparable tuner sensitivities. Some will work better than others with poorer signal quality. Try a known good TV outside to see if that helps.

I had a similar problem, Undo the face plate for your connection and see if it is hooked up right. Under mine some crappy installer in the factory crammed it into the RV and had a big kink in the coax. I cut it back past the kink re spliced it and that fixed it.

I remembered I had a longer cable in my pass thru. I wanted to try pugging into the inside hook up last time I looked into this issue, but I didn't have a long enough cable. I plugged in to my main cable jack inside and ran the cable outside and I got like 50 extra channels outside. Going to take the jack apart and see if anything is loose.

It is probably in the tolerances of the TV but it might be a bad cable. It could be that old sheet RG59 instead of the newer RG6. If you have time go to best buy, home depot etc and Buy a single connector and a long piece of RG6, run the RG6 to the outside TV from the main TV. Make tight connection. If you then get the channels it is probably shatty cable wire. If you do not gain channels it is probably the TV

Try another TV on the ourside connection. If it works better, there is your answer. If not, you have a wiring problem. My bets are on the TV set.
