Oh my! If I were you I would look into hiring someone to stay with you at home and buy your own food and have them cook it for you.
IMHO those assisted living facilities that the hospitals have you go to after care from the hospital are a joke. They don't even look after the people properly.
I took a friend of mine out of one. All we had to do is prove that someone would be with her at home. That IS available to everyone and medicare and your insurance will allow it.
They then send a registered nurse and if needed therapists to your home to check up on you. My friend got way BETTER care at home with the registered nurse coming over then she did when at that Assisted Facility.
