Update "Two On A Unicorn" post

Seems hard to believe that four months ago, almost to the day, my mother died. Because I had found an article she had written for Motorhome Life I decided to post something about her life as an RVer on this forum. I did that two weeks after she died. I titled the subject " Two On a Unicorn" My post explained why I used that phrase.
So here I am four months later sitting in my own 5er in a small town in Albia,Iowa-after returning my mother's ashes to her birthplace.
My mother was born in Albia but at the age of 18 months was sent to live with relatives in California after the death of her mother; she never returned until the year she and her sister traveled the country in their Unicorn.; they returned to Albia to visit their mother's grave.
My mother talked to me a lot over the years about how much she missed her mother and always longed to know what a mother's love was like. She knew how to be a loving mother but never knew the love ofa mother. So when my mother died I knew exactly what I wanted to do for her-I would return her home to be near her mother. Yesterday we buried her ashes next to her mother and it felt as if we'd put an exclamation point on the end of her life!
But updating the post about my mom isn't the only reason for writing this, however. It's also to say that RV people are the nicest people, the most honest, helpful, loving & caring people my husband and I have ever had the privilege of meeting. We have been on the road for almost six weeks. We've had an amazing journey and seen some beautiful country and met many kindhearted fellow travelers. At each stop when people have asked us about our travels and where we were headed next, they would usually become reflective when we told them of our final destination before our return home. We have received care packages, pats on the back, hugs, more hugs, bear hugs and many firm handshakes. We never left one destination without being sent off with well wishes and offerings of prayers for "traveling mercies." How could we not have with all that amazing goodwill?
If you recognize yourself in this post because you were one of those goodly people, or if you've ever offered a kindness to another fellow traveler-Thank You! This journey was doubly blessed because of the kindness of so many.

Thank you for the beautiful post. My Mother was a camper. Five of us camped in a truck camper. Later she traveled in a van, camper van, travel trailer and class B. She was so excited to visit new places. I believe that her spirit is with me as I travel this beautiful land. We pay it forward when someone is nice to us. I have found in our travels that most RVers do the same.
