Upgrading factory reciever?

Have the F150 in sig. With about 2100 lbs of payload we've actually been looking at some very light 5th wheels and am well aware of where I can be with our truck. At the same time, a few very nice TT also have hit the list. However, some of these have high dry tongue weights of 800+ lbs. The factory receiver says max with WD is 1130. Are there any aftermarket receiver with a stronger rating, something like 1500. Don't want to void warranty. Would want to keep loaded tongue 1200 or less but would like enough wiggle room to not worry about it.
  • I don't think you'll find anything as the OEM is integrated into the bumper. I know when I had our 2010 F150 I too was looking for an after market receiver and couldn't find anything with a heavier rating. That was 2 years ago though.
  • I think the torklift superhitch hero may be a good option for you. You likely don't need the dual receivers but the weight capacity is nice.

    Superhitch Hero

This looked like just what I needed. However, they are not compatible if the truck has a factory 11,500 lb. hitch. Now, I'm wondering, if a truck does not have that hitch, how could it benefit from the hero hitch? No way an F150 with the 10,500 lb. hitch could handle the weight the hero allows.
  • Interesting, I wonder what's so different that it wouldn't fit.

Check out Curt hitches, I believe they make a higher rated hitch for your truck.

Not all of them. I just had a Ranch Hand bumper put on my F250 and it used the factory hitch.
