i just did a search and nothing came up, but has anyone taken their rigs to a flying J or other truck stop to weigh their truck/trailer combo? I'm picking up a 2015 Jayco Eagle 314bhds and I want to know exactly what my GCWR will be brand new off the lot, before I load it. then I'll make the return trip once we pack what will stay in the camper. (boys sleeping bag, pots pans utensils, etc.) Any one know what it costs?

Van and storage facilities often have their own scales as well as grain elevators, sometimes steel fabricators. I try to use them because they aren't normally as busy. That way I can weight the TV front, rear separately And loaded/unloaded, the 5W axles and stabilizer weight.

Lots of folks have done it....highly recommended by many (I'm a REAL PROponent of weighing)

Truck Stops usually have CAT Scales (Flying J/Pilot etc)

Cost is $10
With a FREE reweigh within 24 hrs.

Pull truck/trailer up onto the three separate scales

Push Button and YELL into speaker 'PRIVATE WEIGH'

Then after weigh drive off into back of parking lot and drop fiver
Go back onto scales......'PRIVATE RE-WEIGH'

Go park/hitch up

Go inside Pay and get 2 weigh tickets (1 for combo/1 for truck alone)

Truck rear axle
