We do it occasionally too. Rented a small home at the beach next door to the kids and grand kids. Would have been nicer if we could have parked the camper there instead, it's cleaner.
We have rented a villa on an island a time or 2, tough to get the trailer to the Virgin islands. I did however see a old Jayco parked in someones side yard on St Johns.
