Vehicle Wrap

I, like a lot of other folks have a 5th wheel that has fading on the front cap. I was seeing buses, trucks and cars with wraps on them and was wondering if a wrap of some type at the top of my cap would be cost effective in lieu of painting???
  • I have been looking at getting my enclosed trailer wrapped and it is cheaper than paint but most of the shops only offer a 12 month warranty and say that it will last somewhere between 3 - 4 years before needing to be redone.
  • Would that type of business cover only a faded stripe? I paid 2K to have one color stripe around the upper portion of my RV repainted before. Anyone in Yuma or Sequim, WA do that type of service.
  • Just know this. Most wraps have a limited life span. Yes you can have it wrapped but wraps do have a limited life span. Do your homework on what material your shop is using. Don't just have Joe Racecar Lettering do it. They use the cheapest material available because race cars are limited lifespan vehicles. Cool thing about a wrap, you can do whatever you want.
  • If you are out of warranty, then yes. I spoke with a friend of mine who does vinyl graphics / wraps and he said he could cover the entire cap with quality 3m vinly any color I want for less than repainting. I have brown cap and out of warranty with some upper fading. While Keystone may cover repainting, I don't feel like going through the documented hassle.
I will likely wrap it after this year.
