I don't know of a single public "rest stop" within 100 miles of where I live. The turn-offs have been torn up, the picnic tables long gone. So if you want to pull over and crash, it became Wallydocking and using private places.
My question is, with Wallydocking on the outs, where do people go to park if tired? If isn't just an issue of being "too cheap to use a CG." Where I live, there is not one single RV park within 100 miles that will not be completely booked for the next month, so "just use a RV park" is not going to happen.

Seems the local RV parks had raised a ruckus about their businesses losing money.
I have heard of ordinances being made because of complaints from the local RV Parks. Maybe it has an impact on their business, but I wonder just how much. In our case, if we are in "travel" mode and staying on the road until 10PM or later, then getting up and leaving at 5 or 6AM, we're not going to use an RV Park/Campground anyway. If not a Wal-Mart, it will be a Pilot/Flying J, or a Cabelas, or whatever is handy and allows it. If not in that town, then the next one down the road that does. And that town's business that I stay at will get my fuel-up business, maybe an early breakfast or late supper, perhaps a stop at the local grocery store to get some other necessities, etc. I make it a point to spend money where I stop for the night. So if they do it for the RV Parks, they stand more chance of just hurting other local businesses.

There has been an RV at our Wal Mart that is taking advantage of the "overnight" parking! It has been there for over a month! Sometimes the slides are out, and something that are in. But I wish they will nip it in the bud before they ruin it for everyone else!

Spotted at a Walmart in Oregon - dozens of brand spanking new RVs on display by the local dealer.

This is a RV forum therefore we think this is aimed at us,I dont think so, the trucking industry has a huge parking problem they have been passing off to wal-mart and others for years.
Its now come to a head with the E log mandate, commercial drivers must stop when their hours run out ,no ifs ands or buts ,no 'few minutes over' while they look for a spot.
The majors are starting to rent out overnight parking (at truck stops) to assure their drivers dont get caught, this puts small companies and owner operators in a even bigger pickle, thus more and more in retail lots ,and thus more and more signs ,I dont think they are aimed at the RVer.
