Warranty

Not all extended warranties are a waste of money, but RV warranties have so many loopholes for them to deny claims that they, in many cases, can amount to a waste of money. My current rig is 7 years old and I wouldn't pay for an extended warranty at this point, plus I'm pretty handy and prefer to do any repairs if I'm capable. Was offered one when we purchased new rig which I immediately denied, turned out to be the right thing to do as we have had no issues that didn't cost a few buck for me to fix myself.

Nothing wrong with getting an extended warranty and some do get costly repairs that can exceed what they paid for their warranty, peace of mind is the major reason we get them and that feeling can go a long way to making the RVing experience less troublesome. Boils down to your personal situation and point of view, I would be more inclined to get a warranty on motorized RV, for towables I would just take my chances and go without.

haven't heard of that one, but good sam club offers one too. not sure of prices. we get the brochures fairly regular. we bought extended when we bought new camper.

Replacement or depreciated values? Deductible amounts? Exclusions? Service center locations nearby? Reimbursement options if you are on a trip? Parts and labor? Finally, cost?

I've never seen an extended warranty that wasn't weighted towards the issuing company but would love to be wrong.

I only joined GS in March and it feels like you've already spent more than half of my membership fees in printing and stamps.

BTW - thanks so much for jumping in here. I'm new to RVs and having a CampingWorld in my hometown gives me a leg up on things.

I can't say that the GS extended warranty is worth the money, to me anyway. Took them 2 months to approve covered work on my TT, and then they didn't cover it all.
Not real happy with them, or CW that's doing the work.

No, if you don't want us to mail you a quote package, you don't need to provide your address and we will only e-mail you the quote. The mail kit does have a lot of good information in it however.

I cannot give you personal experience with the specific company you are asking about. But, I can relate experience of forty plus years of selling extended warranties and doing thousands of repairs involving those same warranties.

The agent selling the policy is paid a high percentage of the cost of the policy for their involvement. The adjusters making the payment for repairs are paid on the basis of what they don't pay and finding reasons not to pay. After commissions, overhead, and repairs they either make a profit or go out of business and you will not have any coverage going forward. Many take the going out of business route every year and open up next week as a newly named company. Wholesale Warranties is simply a seller of warranties and not the ultimate issuer of the policy. And, no, there is very little state regulation of these companies.
