What you get when a Prevost just won't do

In some ways I feel sorry for the mega rich. Body guards for your kids. Every time you meet someone new its what do they want, what is there game. I never worried about my kids being kidnaped. Body guards so the wife can shop No thanks..

Glad to see that so many have a sense of humour. As the song goes "That don't impress me much". Too many places that these things cannot go. I'll give it to their owners & skippers however, they are anchoring up in places that have never been used by boats like these.

This years America's Cup is turning out to be the best ever, even with the shifty weather. 2 days with not enough wind to race. 1 day, today, a blowout with too much wind to race.

Yesterday was borderline too much wind & the damage sustained by the boats showed it. They were approaching speeds of 50mph. Lots of videos on YouTube for anyone who wants to see sailboats go almost 3 times the wind speed.

I don't need to worry about yacht costs after I start selling armament to the Third World. That is about the only way I'm going to get one of these "mega-yachts".

Just as a contrast ... this afternoon I finished power washing our 14 foot aluminum boat along with it's 9.9 HP outboard motor.

I'll bet those yachts in the photos can't be used to troll for trophy trout where we're going to drycamp and fish with the RV and boat in a couple of weeks. ;)

(However .... those yacht owners could probably buy their own lake if they wanted. :B )

My wife hated our little 18 footer. I can't imagine how crazy she would be with me at the helm!!!! Plus I don't think my Excursion can haul that to Lake Havasu! Well maybe with some stronger springs.

Back on planet Earth these were also in port this weekend. They all left today, headed to Boston.

It is not RVing stuff but these are sights those who do not live near saltwater get to see very often.

Please don't feel a bit bad for those people. I'll bet money that they were told to get a good education. That was their choice.

Oops, you're right. It was late..

My ex-boss had a boat capable of speeds in excess of 60kts (El Tigre), with the largest piece of compound curved glass ever made. There was a 'salon' above the wheelhouse that could drop the window around the entire room and expose a 20mm cannon (there's still pirates out there). The 1-off power plant was covered in Power and Motor Yacht many years ago when it was #5 of the largest private yachts in the world and by far the fastest.

The Octopus belongs to Paul Allen. It has it's own 3 phase electrical sub station. It can't plug in anywhere without bringing the whole port down. Crazy money. 26-30 million a year just to maintain.
