The DW and I are headed to South Texas in early June and we are looking for recommendations on where to just stop and stay for a single night in the Oklahoma City area. Any ideal's on where would be a quick place to stop off of I35. Any input would be great.

we've stayed at several places in OK City over the years...- Rockwell RV Park off I-40 on the west side of town. not much to look at but it's clean, quiet and not that expensive.- Roadrunner RV Park off I-35 south of I-40. sites were a bit tight and again not much to look at but clean and quiet.- Twin Fountains RV Park just west of I-35/I-44 junction. this was the nicest park in terms of amenities, etc. and not surprisingly the most expensive.if it's just for one night then I'd choose Rockwell. Roadrunner being off I-35 might be the most convenient for you and would be fine as well. if you were looking to spend a few days in OKC then Twin Fountains would be your place.good luck.

We have stayed at the KOA just east of OKC. And would again. But may be more than you want to pay just to overnight.

If you want a quick overnight with no amenities we have stayed twice at the River Wind Casino on the south side of Norman. Very safe ( security stays within 300' of your rig) no charge to stay and they will pick you up at your door to take you to there buffet with good food and bring you right back to your door when you are done eating or gambling. Very nice people and if you call they are very welcoming also. You can come in as late as you want too.

The Exposition Center in Shawnee OK is $20/night for electric and water. The restrooms and showers were clean. Lots of spaces to choose from. If it is raining though, it can be messy on the gravel roads.

The Grand Casino in Shawnee used to have 50 amp & water hookups for free. You just had to get a player's card. Call them

We stay there every year for the Women's College World Series. Very nice place. Not sure I would wanna just pop in for a few hours though. They are a bit pricey. But we stay for 7 days so it's not bad.

And our dogs have no problems peeing on the grass and not the bushes. We just pull them away from the trees and bushes and say no. But I do outweigh them by a couple hundred pounds.

By the way, only place we've stayed in OKC so I have no other recommendations I can make.

If you are traveling with pets they are not allowed to pee on bushes or trees at Twin Fountains RV Park. Be kind of hard to walk our dog under those rules.

After going back and forth snowbirding to Texas this is where we spend the night in that area. Clicky

Easy on/off, not too many know of it, free breakfast, just make sure you go past the hotel and not into the steep driveway for the hotel. RV park is behind. Clean and quiet, AAA discount, FHU, swimming pool.

I second this. We stay there twice a year. Once when going South and then when coming back. Been going there for several years.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I appreciate it, now just have to figure out what we're going to do but I'm thinking the River Winds Casino is at the top of the list simply because were not looking for the extra's, just a decent place to eat close and a place to sleep for the night before hitting the road early. Thank's everyone for your help.

Cedar Valley RV Park is about 6 miles west of Guthrie, OK, which is a few miles north of Oklahoma City. It's a nice park near a golf course. We've stayed there two or three times on our way to spend the winter in Texas. Nice and quiet; takes Passport America, but not Good Sam. Also a very good steak house in Guthrie. Gages is the name, I think. Casual dining but very good food. Hope this helps.

It might be a little further south then you want but Turnner Falls is kind of a neat area. I always stop on the way to Texas to get a fried pie. Small RV park there as well.
